Our tip: We recommend the 62 lb base plates for all pop-up canopy tents 10x10 ft and larger (including 10x10 ft, 15x10 ft, 13x6.5 ft, 13x13 ft, 20x10 ft, 20x13 ft, and 26x13 ft). For maximum stability, place a 62 lb base plate on each canopy tent leg. This increases both the total weight and the ground contact area, resulting in improved overall stability.
Canopy Tent Weight – 33 lb
The 33 lb cast iron base plate is a dependable solution for anchoring pop-up canopy tents on solid surfaces. Ideal for smaller setups where stability and easy handling matter.
Key Features:
-
Suitable for hard surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, or stone
-
Flat, low-profile design with a compact footprint
(13.4x13.4 in) -
Positioned directly on the canopy tent foot and around the leg
-
Integrated carrying handles for easy transport and handling

Stable Setups with Proven Anchoring Solutions
Pop-up canopy tents can be secured using several effective anchoring methods. The best option depends on the surface, length of use, and weather conditions. We recommend the following four solutions:
-
Base Plates (33 lb & 62 lb)
Ideal for hard surfaces such as concrete or asphalt. Well suited for mobile use, base plates provide dependable stability and have been tested under controlled wind conditions. -
Water Weights (44 lb when filled)
Flexible ballast with no ground penetration. Attached directly to the canopy tent leg, water weights are ideal for temporary setups and sensitive surfaces. -
Anchoring Kit with Guy Ropes & Ground Stakes
The right choice for soft ground such as grass or soil. Quick to install and reliable, even for longer outdoor use. -
Ground Anchors (min. 16 in)
Designed for permanent installations in gardens or green areas. They secure the canopy tent firmly in the ground, even in challenging weather conditions.
For Maximum Stability: These anchoring solutions can also be combined to further increase overall stability and safety.
Reliable Anchoring Without Drilling
When drilling into paving stones, concrete, or patio slabs isn’t an option, canopy tent weights offer a secure and surface-friendly solution. The following options are especially well suited for hard, finished surfaces:
-
Base Plates (33 lb & 62 lb)
A dependable choice for solid ground. Base plates are stackable, easy to transport, rust-resistant, and space-saving. The right weight depends on your canopy tent size, setup, and intended use. -
Water Weights (44 lb when filled)
A flexible solution with no ground penetration. Water weights attach directly to the canopy tent leg and are ideal for temporary setups or sensitive patio surfaces.
Both solutions are quick to set up and can be combined when needed to increase overall stability and peace of mind.
Stable Anchoring for Lawns and Green Areas
Grass and lawns offer flexible options for securing a pop-up canopy tent. The best solution depends on how long the tent will be in place and the level of stability required. The following options are recommended:
-
Base Plates (33 lb & 62 lb)
A good choice for mobile use where the canopy tent is moved frequently or not installed permanently. Base plates provide reliable stability without penetrating the ground. -
Water Weights (44 lb when filled)
Flexible ballast that attaches directly to the canopy tent leg. Ideal for temporary setups and situations where the lawn should remain undisturbed. After teardown, the water can be drained and reused—for example, for watering the grass. -
Anchoring Kit with Guy Ropes & Ground Stakes
The ideal solution for grass and soil. Quick to install and dependable, even for longer periods of outdoor use. -
Ground Anchors (min. 16 in)
Designed for permanent installations in gardens or green areas. They secure the canopy tent firmly in the ground and provide strong holding power in challenging weather conditions.
Our tip: For maximum stability, anchoring methods can be combined—for example, using weights together with guy ropes—to increase overall security.
Temporary or Permanent Anchoring on Solid Surfaces
Several proven solutions are available for securing a pop-up gazebo on asphalt. The most suitable option depends on the duration of use and local conditions.
-
Canopy Tent Weights (33 lb & 62 lb)
Ideal for temporary setups, especially in public spaces. These galvanized steel weights are stackable, easy to transport, rust-resistant, and provide secure anchoring without damaging the surface. -
Water Weights (44 lb when filled)
A flexible option for short-term use. Water weights attach directly to the canopy tent leg and offer a ground-friendly solution where drilling isn’t permitted. -
Bolting into Asphalt
For permanent installations, a pop-up canopy tent can be bolted directly into asphalt. This requires drilling and securing the tent with screws at least 4 in long, making it suitable for seasonal or long-term setups.
Anchoring Without Drilling Using Weights
When drilling isn’t possible or preferred, canopy tent weights offer a safe, surface-friendly way to anchor your setup on most hard surfaces.
-
Base Plates (33 lb & 62 lb)
Ideal for patios, asphalt, and courtyards. Base plates are space-saving, stackable, and easy to transport, providing dependable stability without surface damage. -
Water Weights (44 lb when filled)
Flexible ballast that attaches directly to the canopy tent leg. Especially well suited for temporary setups and sensitive surfaces where ground penetration isn’t allowed.
Increased Stability Through Combination
Yes. Different anchoring systems can be easily combined. Using a mix of base plates, water weights, and anchoring kits significantly increases the stability of a pop-up canopy tent—especially in windy conditions or demanding environments.
